Introduction

I've started this blog solely for the purpose of posting pictures of my stitching for the Take a Stitch Tuesday Challenge so that I can join the webring. I'm concerned about spending too much time blogging, or even just learning the ropes. Now to figure out how to upload pictures.

You're doing great so far with the blog. I have a young friend in Houston who spread her wings yesterday and tried it herself - good job and beautiful work. do it often please!! She is a designer also, and terrified of computer things.

I adore buttonhole stitch, can never get enough of it. I've recently discovered the joy of TRELLIS stitch, which comes under the same sub-heading. Two things I would mention.
1. Have you visited needlenthread.com website for hand embroiders? it is amazing, do scroll down as it loads all its adverts at the top of the page.
2. Look up Alencon lace (which is a needle and thread lace) for the total limit on how far you can go with buttonhole stitch. Also, if you go to Alencon itself in France (nice new motorway from Calais) they give demonstrations by someone who used to work at the lacemaking workshop...(it was really good, only in French but you can sort of get the gist)
